Description
Organic Buckwheat Pillow, Standard UK Size
Measuring 70cm (27 in) long, 44cm (17 in) wide, and 14cm (5.5 in) deep, our standard size Buckwheat Pillow fits UK pillowcases perfectly.
The organic unbleached 100% cotton casing is sturdy and has a full length zip at one end for ease of washing and access to your hulls – a popular choice is to add lavender for personalisation. The zip is flap-protected to avoid accidental spills. The case also features our Brow Farm logo label with washing instructions on the reverse – wash at 40°.
Our pillows are filled with triple-cleaned organic buckwheat husks (hulls), a process that ensures hull integrity – no crushed hulls here. The standard size weighs approximately 4.4kg. Hulls are also available to buy separately when needed.
Buckwheat pillows provide superior comfort for head and neck by enhancing support – included are instructions on getting the most out of your new pillow. These pillows also offer sustainability – check the drop-down menu for a compelling offer when purchasing two pillows.
Please note that for hygiene reasons we cannot accept returns on opened pillows.

We have a memory foam mattress and pillow set. The pillows left a gap just below the neck so we were waking up with very sore backs.
I had a slim buckwheat pillow previously and found that it was great for back sleepers, but not side sleepers.
I spent some time searching for similar to this old pillow and ended up here at Brow Farm. I ordered two of these pillows.
When they turned up (I opted for express delivery and they came the next day) they were much thicker than I expected – and heavy. I thought I’d made a mistake in buying them.
However, after the first night we both found them possibly the most comfortable pillows we’d ever slept on. Weeks later we still think this.
Gently smack your head into the pillow (back sleepers) or gently roll your head (side sleepers) and you’ve made a soft dent in the pillow exactly matching your head.
I’ve read reviews of an odour from these pillows but we honestly not found this at all. We bought the British size pillow so our existing cases fit.
This pillow may not be for everyone, but I can highly recommend it – it is the best pillow I’ve ever had.
The downside is, for hygiene reasons, once opened it can’t be returned. But if it doesn’t suit you it will definitely suit someone else you know I would say.
I’m also very glad I bought from Brow Farm – it’s British and you know exactly where the pillow was made.
A brilliant service.
I do not work for Brow Farm or know anyone who does – this is a genuine review. I state the above because I’m always slightly suspicious of very good reviews.

I’ve been struggling to sleep through the night for years, kind of got used to not doing. For the last 5 years or so I’ve had to use a cushion to support my upper shoulder (side sleeper) or I found my chest sort of collapsing forward and putting strain on my lower back. I’ve also been waking up with headaches quite often and decided that it could have something to do with my pillow. I did a lot of research and the buckwheat pillow kept coming up as a good option, but I was very sceptical and put off by the thought of smells and hardness. But oh my! Was I wrong! There was no smell at all, it isn’t noisy like some people have said, yes it is very firm, there’s no sinking into it. But what is really good is how stable it makes you, my spine alignment was good and stayed that way all night. I would roll over and still be instantly straight and comfy. This is the first time I have not woken up stiff and sore. I would definitely recommend this pillow.
Also, I am a perimenopausal lady who struggles with night sweats, this pillow really does stay cool all night.
As for Brow Farm, there prices are great and the delivery was next day before 10am. Perfect. I also purchased a couple of lavender bags and a yoga bolster which is huge, solid and perfect for my back when sitting up in bed.

This pillow may not be for everyone, but I can highly recommend it – it is the best pillow I’ve ever had!
The most comfortable pillows I ever slept on. My husband loves it as well. Even my 10 years asked for one and she loves it as well.
It feels hard at first but you just need to make a little dent in the pillow and then its exactly matching your head.
No back problems. Perfect rest and sleep each night.
Will get them for my parents for Christmas
Also I just want to add your service is brilliant.
Thank You

I’ve been using one of a buckwheat filled pillow for about 3 years and I don’t think I’ll ever use a different type because I find it so comfortable. I like the fact that you can mould it to make it the optimum height and shape. Also the fact that a buckwheat filled pillow is nothing like one of those soft fluffed-up pillows into which your head sinks down until it is almost level with the mattress. Lastly, it seems relatively cool in the hot weather. I’m about to buy another one to keep in reserve.

Always good to hear from someone who is getting the benifits from using a Buckwheat Filled Pillow.

I got two pillows for me and my partner. Good quality and good service. I recommend!
It is the first time we have tried buckwheat filled pillows and after sleeping on themt for a week I can confidently say that this is the best pillow I ever slept on. I sleep in all positions and it’s so easy to adjust the pillow – I’m always comfortable! Even the amount of buckwheat is perfect for us as it is – no need to add or remove. The sound it makes is quiet and pleasant.
Thank you Brow Farm!

This is my second buckwheat pillow, and I’m very happy with it. Did find it weird at first but it’s only after I went back to using my first years later that I realised that it was doing my head and neck some good. I wasn’t really sure how I was supposed to clean the pillow and sadly ruined it by putting it in the washing machine! Yeah don’t do that. I then hurriedly looked for another and came across my second pillow. I like that it’s a normal sized pillow and that you can unzip and wash the outer case. My only moan is I ordered 2 pillows and 2 extra cases and when I washed them they both shrunk by a good inch. I’m guessing that when I get around to washing the case that came with the buckwheat that they will do the same. But that doesn’t stop me from loving my pillow. I will take it camping also. My son got the other pillow and he loves it to. Would not have anything else now.

After 1 night of sleeping on a buckwheat pillow I Japan 15 years ago and always trying to find anothe pillow like it, I finally found a buckwheat pillow that I could compare. I have been using my buckwheat pillow now for 2 years and I won’t ever get another type of pillow.
I have converted my wife to your pillows also and now I have just ordered some more for our spare bed so our guests can now sleep as well as us!
Can’t recommend more highly

I bought my first buckwheat pillow in 2017 and have never looked back. My bf realised how good it was and started stealing it from me, so I got one for him from Brow Farm on Amazon in 2018. News then spread, and now our whole extended family are using it too. We go straight to Brow Farm to purchase this now.
> Pros
+ stays cool when sleeping
+ moulds to the perfect shape
+ washable
+ can adjust the fill to your liking (for a softer pillow – use less filling)
+ banish neck pain (for real!)
> Cons
– it can be noisy if you move a lot in your sleep (personally I find it very relaxing, like rain sounds)
– can be heavy
– people will try to steal your pillow
– changing the pillow cover can be annoying (not as quick as a traditional pillow since it’s shapeshifting all the time)
Good bye neck pain!! How does it work?… I honestly don’t know what this sorcery is.

I do wish you’d contacted us at the time Tina. Not sure if the pillow was the problem after 8 months of using it before you noticed anything. Would of like to look in to it more. We are leaving this up if only to show others that all our reviews are from real people.

I’ve used buckwheat pillows for years now, and this is a great pillow.
Pillowcase is very sturdy and will last years.
I wouldn’t use any other kind of pillow now, and when I go away I always miss my pillow at home.
The only thing I would complain about is that I could do with a little more filling in, probably just a personal preference.

Taken your advice David and we’ve now started adding a little more of our buckwheat hulls to each pillow we fill.
Thank you your honest feed back. It all helps us improve our buckwheat filled sleep pillows.

I don’t normally leave reviews but thought I would for this.
For years I have been waking up with a pain in my shoulder, a stiff neck and usually a stonking headache. I’ve tried all sorts, sleeping on my back, sleeping on my side, memory foam pillows, rolled up towel instead of a pillow, copious amounts of drugs – nothing has really worked that resulted in a night of unbroken sleep.
I bought this with the thought “Worth a shot” but not expecting the results I got. First night I used a standard cotton pillowcase and was on the warm side, but awoke with hardly any pain and no headache. Coupled with a silk pillowcase this has been – for me – fantastic. This last week I have slept better and I wake feeling like I have had a good sleep, and best of all no headache or shoulder pain. All from a pillow?!
If you have uncomfortable sleep issues and are considering a new pillow I would suggest ditching the memory foam and embracing the buckwheat, it could be the best choice make.

Thanks for the great review Dan.

What a great investment. I’ve been looking for the right pillow for years!! I have a condition called ‘EDS’ that causes issues in my neck, shoulders, hips, and knees, so getting a supportive pillow is so important to me. After much research, Buck Wheat Pillows were recommended for my condition.
It’s taken a few weeks to get use to this pillow, but I’ve stuck with it and have noticed reduced pain in my neck and shoulders. I’d highly recommend, but if you’re like me, and sensitive to the change of how the pillow feels, stick with it. It’s worth it and better for you and the environment. 💚
