Description
Wheatgrass Seed
Our wheatgrass seed is grown on our farm in West Lancashire. After harvesting, the seeds are dried slowly using cool air to a moisture content of 14%. This helps the seed retain a good germination rate. Prior to shipping the seed is six-screen cleaned.
As a general rule you can expect to grow around 700 shoots from 20kg of seed. Wheatgrass is an annual plant, i.e. it needs to grow from seed every year. For this reason it does have a shelf life, more so if it is not stored in the correct conditions. We sell seed with a 4-month use by date on the bag, however the seed will grow with vigour well beyond that date if stored in cool, dark, dry conditions.
ALLERGEN WARNING: CONTAINS WHEAT (A SOURCE OF GLUTEN)
We sell organic compost, ideal for growing your seeds in.
See our guide on Growing Juicing Greens which covers Wheatgrass, Oat Grass, and Barley Grass.
Seeds can be ordered in several weights. The 5 & 10kg options are also available in a storage bucket.
Buckets can also be purchased separately.
